This is a nice hotel. The food at the restaurant is very good. I got the breakfast package and it was made to order! Delicious pancakes, french toast and more. The staff were fantastic from the cleaning staff to the front desk. The only issue was the air conditioning in my room which didn't seem to work all the time. It started working the day I left.
We enjoyed our stay primarily because of our interaction with Donna at the check in desk. My wife had been lamenting that she wished she had an apple and when I came in after parking the car she had one. Donna had given Wendy her apple that she had not eaten that day. She was delightful and took great care of us.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Port St. Lucie for 2 nights during the Thanksgiving holiday. The front desk staff was pleasant enough and the check in process was quick and painless. The room was damp and had a bit of a mildewy smell when we first entered. We turned on the air conditioning to try and rectify this but the room never really dried. It turns out there mini fridge was leaking into the carpet, which I imagine was the source of the problem. We had 2 small full sized beds in our room. The sheets were pilling quite a bit and were, of course, also damp. The pillows were fluffy enough, though. The water pressure in the shower was good and everything was clean for the most part. The hotel coming staff, however, did not clean or room between the two nights at all. I'm not sure if this is standard procedure or an oversight but we were very disappointed to come back to a wet-carpeted, moist, uncleaned hotel room after a busy day. They could have at least brought fresh towels... All in all we were pretty disappointed at our stay here.
The staff at this hotel is horrendous. They are rude and incredibly unhelpful and do not provide any answers to customers. I needed to get a hotel room for my colleagues through our company and to pay with the company card and at no point was I told there would need to be an authorization form completed, even after I asked if this would be needed. To rectify this situation, she made it as hard as she could, her name is Donna, for my colleagues to get up to their room; not allowing them to go up until she put my card through, not taking responsibility for the hotels miscommunication with a PAYING customer. I sent out the authorization and she waited ten minutes to open the email, delaying them getting to their rooms. This staff is rude, unprofessional, and has the worst hospitality I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with .
The hotel is nice but not superb. The hotel itself is clean but the rooms are in need of an upgrade as they are showing their age. The carpet in the rooms are dirty looking and stained and the windows could use a good cleaning. There were also leftover animal hairs on the carpet from whoever was in the room last, and the handle to turn on the water for the shower was so rusted you couldn't even turn it without 2 hands. I also wasn't a fan of the lady at the front desk, she was nice but had one of those personalities that make you feel like she is better than you. But the hotel itself is nice, the pool area is great too. Overall it wasn't a horrible experience but I wasn't overly impressed either.
