Dont waste you time making an appointment with Dr Torado. I waited three months and took off work only to have him cancel my appointment a few minutes before seeing me. This doctor is completely unprofessional with a very rude medical assistant.

Dr. Ghiam is not only a great Dr but is also very friendly, easy going and puts you at ease. So is his supervising physician, Dr. Talati. They spent a good 1/2 hour with me and wrnt over everything.

great assistants. However the doctors make me feel that they are always in a rush. They may not say it but they are acting on it.
I really like my doctor, Dr. Brooks, and her residents. They are always responsive to my health issues and have been very helpful this year while I have dealt with some severe health issues. However, scheduling and "background services" leave a LOT to be desired. I received a voicemail from the office this morning telling me that unless I called my insurance company TODAY about something, that I would not be able to be seen for an appointment tomorrow, which I prescheduled MONTHS ago.
I recommend the Heart and Family Institute 100%.
After numerous attempts to get through to the person who left that message, each one requiring me to sit on hold on the scheduling line for 15 to 30 minutes, I finally got through. The person acted like it was nothing that I'd had to hold so long. She didn't even acknowledge my complaint. And, apparently, despite my giving them insurance information several times, it's perfectly okay that I keep having to do their job.
The first time I had the appointment not only did I have to wait almost a month to see my doctor but when I went to reschedule another appointment I had to find another primary and wait another month and a half because she "found another job". When I was on the phone with them a gentlemen had told me that there was a patient that had to switch her primary 7 times in under a year. My needs are important and a little on the emergency side but I could never get an appointment for under a months time. On top of that they always have doctors going on vacation constantly and only one cardiologist... I mean its called heart and family but yet only one cardio... This place is ridiculous and if you have dire needs like I do, I don't recommend you making an appointment here.
I wish Dr. Brooks would go into private practice. I'd definitely jump ship to keep her as my provider.
